"Leverage" is the fancy Wall Street word for debt.
上面這句話是Newsweek裡面某篇文章提到的, 非常的有意思. 更有意思的是, 文章內還引用了Warren Buffet在接受The Charlie Rose Show時, 提出以下對於Leverage的看法.
Leverage is the only way a smart guy can go broke...
You do smart things, you eventually get very rich. If you do smart things and use leverage and you do one wrong thing along the way, it could wipe you out, because anything times zero is zero. But it's reinforcing when the people around you are doing it successfully, you are doing it successfully, and it's a lot like Cinderella at the ball. The guys look better all the time, the music sounds better, it's more ji3and more fun, you think, "Why the hell should I leave at a quarter to 12? I'll leave at two minutes to 12!" But the trouble is, there are no clocks on the wall. And everybody thinks they're going to leave at two minutes to 12.
不得不佩服Buffet, 居然可以舉出這個有意思的例子! 雖然我有時覺得他是會在12點過後, 站在門口說 "看你要付多少錢, 我可以想辦法讓你離開的順位前進一點..."
